The Metro-Access and Short Range Communications Group is led by Prof. Idelfonso Tafur Monroy. The research of the Group is primarily concerned with generation, transmission and detection techniques for communications by optical fibers, wireless, free-space optics and their converged end-to-end communication path. The Metro-Access Group’s application scenarios considered span from IoT, sensing, data centers, Tactile Internet, and metro-to-end-user communications.
