The AQ host institution is the Department of Industrial and Information Engineering and Economics (DIIIE) of the University of L'Aquila, Italy. The Department counts approximately 100 permanent staff members with expertise in many diverse fields, which range from basic mathematics, physics, electronics, telecommunications, to materials science. The DIIIE has its own Graduate School in Industrial and Information Engineering with approximately 30 PhD students, more than 40 post-docs, and technical staff with expertise in electronics, mechanics, and computer science.
The activity will be supported by an established collaborative network active in the host institution that as a long-standing record of studies in the fields of interest. All activities in AQ will be carried out in the Electrical and Electronic Laboratory, which has two environments interconnected to a common study hall. Each lab environment is approximately 90 meters square, and hosts a separate experimental apparatus.
