Min Wan (ESR 14, IR)

Min Wan is from China. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Optoelectronic Information Engineering from Xi'an Technological University in 2014. She completed her Master’s Degree in Optical Engineering, from Beijing University of Technology, in 2017. During her Master programme, Min Wan obtained a scholarship to study for three months abroad, at the University College Dublin (UCD) in Ireland. Her research is in the areas of Digital Holographic Microscopy and Terahertz Imaging. She completed her Master Thesis on “Continuous-wave terahertz digital holography: Image quality research”.

Min Wan joined Prof John T. Sheridan research group in the UCD School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering in June 2017, as part of the ITN CELTA project. Her PhD work focuses on develop Terahertz imaging technology, and involves modelling, characterisation and data processing using optical engineering principles. The research is directed towards utilising the advantageous physical properties of THz wavelengths and emerging THz technology to improve operational functionality for specific applications.
